Welcome

"This blog is to serve as a place for my most recent works, polished or not, to show what I'm working toward, where my struggles are, and who I'm becoming as a photographer. Thanks for having a look." ~Jeff

Becoming a Tumblr

Okay, stay with me here, but I'm switching gears and heading over to Tumblr for my blogging needs.  Nothing inherently wrong with Blogger, but Tumblr provides a much better and more exciting network of creatives while maintaining the fundamental function of blogging.

Don't worry, my photography portfolio will still be maintained and the blogging element will only continue to grow as it becomes more broad and encompasses my life, margins and all.  That's right, I'll comment on my experiences as Husband, Father, Son, Christ Follower, Coffee Roaster, Volvo Driver, et cetera.

I hope you stay connected and join Tumblr yourself.

Peace,
Jeff

Seasonal Portraits

I'm getting ready to pursue all avenues of business in an attempt to get people ready for seasonal portraits.  Think Christmas cards, Thanksgiving invitations, Fall/Harvest parties, back-to-school mayhem, et cetera.  I want to be there, ahead of the game, ready.

I'm excited to be out with people this time of year, in parks, their backyards, on walks down main street, to capture the mood and discover what's around that corner.  What may be a free session could turn into glorious wall-mounted family portraits, enticing invitations to dinner, or "wish you were here" salutations from afar.  Don't forget, leaves are changing fast.  Let's make plans now!

Peace,
~Jeff

Going Wide at Dusk

It's been a while since I've spent much time behind the wide end of my lens spectrum and I'm always surprised at how much this perspective inspires me.  Jumped outside tonight a few minutes past sunset to absorb all that was left of the natural light...

All photos were shot with an old school Canon 5D camera and the 17-40mm f/4L lens: hand-held, no flash, no bull.

Love the old Volvo.

Nothing but Jack

Got a few photographs of this boy child enjoying the cool of a beer on his face and belly.  No less than 82 degrees indoors while it feels like 115 outside - can't blame him for snatching daddy's refreshment.

Beware of jack.
